About
IRSN (Inter Religious Spiritual Network) was founded in response to the lack of recognition, coherence and visibility of interfaith initiatives by the Amsterdam South East City Council. Faith communities recognized the growing need for an organization that promotes mutual understanding and advocates for the integration of interreligious cooperation in city government.
IRSN addresses three key issues in the current societal and social framework from Amsterdam South East:
1. Insufficient recognition:
Faith organizations and interfaith initiatives receive little visibility and recognition in city policy.
2. Insufficient cohesion:
Various communities operate separately limited opportunities for collaboration.
3. Insufficient visibility:
The impact and contributions of interfaith activities are often undervalued or overlooked.
Love leads to acceptance and
acceptance leads love.
OUR MISSION
Promoting understanding, cooperation and dialogue among diverse people faith communities in the city, while advocating for integration of interreligious initiatives in the decision-making of the municipal council.
Through educational programs, community events, and collaborative projects, we aim to foster a spirit of inclusivity and mutual respect. By engaging with leaders and members of various faith groups, we seek to address common challenges and celebrate shared values. Our mission is to create a harmonious and vibrant community where diverse voices contribute to the cultural and social fabric of the city. We believe that by working together, we can build bridges of understanding and pave the way for a more peaceful and united future.
OUR VISION
A harmonious city where interfaith dialogue and cooperation contribute to social cohesion, mutual respect and inclusive policy.
We imagine a vibrant community where diverse cultures and beliefs coexist peacefully, creating a tapestry of shared values and understanding. In our vision, citizens engage in open conversations, celebrating differences while finding common ground to address challenges together. Education and awareness programs flourish, fostering empathy and appreciation for each individual's unique perspective. Public spaces are designed to encourage interaction and collaboration, serving as platforms for creative expression and dialogue. Through these efforts, we aim to build a city that not only respects diversity but thrives on it, setting a benchmark for inclusive development and unity in diversity.
